William John McCutcheon (1854-1902) was the son of Robert McCutcheon Senior. During my research for the children of this family, I lost William around 1873 so I assumed that he died and labelled him as such in the book, with his death date circa 1874.
In June of this year (2012), his Great Grand-daughter, Nadine McCutcheon found the blog on WordPress, sending a message saying “I think your information on Robert Senior’s son William John is wrong…”
Nadine has some old pictures, his death certificate along with his burial location in Detroit.
Rather than sending all of his updated information here, William’s information can be found under Chapter 6: John McCutcheon’s son Robert (1792-1855) — C: Robert Senior (1825-1881) – along with a picture of the family (courtesy of Nadine).
Also Posted is a picture of the family. The picture appears to be circa 1896.
Also finally found is his brother, Hugh Henry McCutcheon (1864-1909). Hugh died of Cirrhosis of the liver and was buried at Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit. Undertaker was P. Blake and Sons. SECTION: 3; BLOCK: 1; GRAVE: 82. In the 1900 US census, Hugh was a barber and living in Detroit. Living with him at the time was his brother, Thomas. However, sometime after this date, he and Anna moved to Fenton, Michigan and were operating a Hotel/Inn/Saloon at the time of his death. This couple produced no children.
