F: Ellen (1853-1933)

F:         Ellen McCUTCHEON (4) (Charles McCutcheon-3; Samuel McCutcheon-2; Samuel McCutcheon-1) was born in Mulmur Township, Dufferin, ON. on the 10th March 1853 and she died on the 21st August 1933 in Vancouver, BC.  She married Arthur Wesley OGILVIE, son of Dr. Wesley Ogilvie and Rhonda on the 12th January 1869 in Vancouver.  He was buried at the Masonic Cemetery, Section D, Plot 20, Lot 14.  Arthur was a carpenter by trade. †

† Dr. Arthur Wesley Ogilvie’s second wife was Ellen’s mother (Elizabeth Amelia TANNER).  Ellen married his only son, Arthur Ogilvie.  Ellen married her step-brother.  This Ogilvie family were descendants of the Ogilvie family who were the progenitors of “Ogilvie Mills.”

OGILVIE:  Passed away August 21st, 1933, Mrs. Ellen Ogilvie, 3206 Buckingham Avenue in her 85th year.  Loving mother of Mrs. W. W. Moore and Robert A. Ogilvie of Vancouver.  Funeral service Wednesday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM in Nunn and Thompson Funeral Chapel, 10th Avenue and Camble Street.  Reverend Dr. J. S. Henderson officiating.  Interment in family plot, Masonic Cemetery, Burnaby.

OGILVIE:  Passed away November 29th, 1924, Arthur W. Ogilvie, 1007 Burrard Street in his 82nd year, survived by his loving wife, 1 daughter, Mrs. W.W. Moore and 1 son Robert A. Ogilvie.  Service on December 2nd at 2:00 o’clock in Nunn & Thompson Chapel, 531 Homer Street – Reverend Dr. J. S. Henderson officiating.  Interment in new Masonic Cemetery, Burnaby.  No flowers by request.

  • Mary L OGILVIE (5) (Ellen McCutcheon-4; Charles McCutcheon-3; Samuel McCutcheon-2; Samuel McCutcheon-1) was born circa 1859 in Keppel Township, Grey County, ON.  This seems wrong, as Mary was only 6 years younger than Ellen.  Perhaps Mary was a child from a previous relationship of Arthur’s.
  • Robert Alexander OGILVIE (5) (Ellen McCutcheon-4; Charles McCutcheon-3; Samuel McCutcheon-2; Samuel McCutcheon-1) was born on the 21st March 1874 in Keppel Township, Grey County, ON and he died on the 16th November 1935 in Vancouver, BC.  He was buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Vancouver.  He married Ruth PERIARD (1876-?) on the 21st March 1905 in Vancouver.  He enlisted in the Canadian Military on the 7th September 1916.  He was a store keeper and hardware salesman.

ETHEL MAY L OGILVIE (1879-1935)

i.        Ethel May L OGILVIE (5) (Ellen McCutcheon-4; Charles McCutcheon-3; Samuel McCutcheon-2; Samuel McCutcheon-1) was born on the 2ND July 1879 in Keppel Township, Grey County, ON.   She died on the 16th November 1935 in Vancouver, BC.  She married William Wellington MOORE on the 28th December 1901 in Vancouver.  He was born in Listowel, Perth ON circa 1872 and he died on the 25th June 1942 in Vancouver.  His parents were William Moore and Jane Argue. ♣♣

NOTE:   Ethel May died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.  She was buried at Mountview Cemetery, Vancouver, BC.

♣♣ Cousin married cousin. William Moore was the brother of Isabella Moore who married Ethel May’s second cousin, Albert E Little in Chapter 6 Section B.  Albert E Little was the son of Ann McCutcheon (1827-1883).

  • Douglas MOORE (6) Circa 1918 in Vancouver, BC.
